Repair LCD Monitor ? Here are Extremely Proven Tips for Repairing Any Brand of LCD Monitor

Want to know how to repair LCD monitor? You know, there was a time when I really, really hated troubleshooting and fixing LCD monitors.

See, I was so used to repairing CRT monitors. However, times have changed. I hardly get repairing gigs for CRT monitors now days.

So, as I said, I didn’t like to repair LCD monitors because their circuitry is a whole lot more complicated than CRTs. After all, the vast majority of the signals running in LCD monitors are digital ones so that makes them slightly harder to troubleshoot.

Now I say “slightly harder” because I was very lucky to discover a complete photographic guide on repairing LCD monitors. Thanks to this guide I managed to solve tons of problems commonly associated with LCD monitors.

By the way, you can check out the guide by following this link.

Alright, since I’ve successfully completed a lot of LCD monitor repairing gigs; let me share a couple of proven tips to help you out…

(1) It’s a small world…

Yes, I noticed that the LCD MCU IC (Microcontroller Unit IC) has gotten smaller in size. But that’s not a big concern because the troubleshooting procedure remains the same.

Look, if you think the problem lies with the MCU IC, what you can do is examine the crystal’s waveform as well as the IC signal output. Also, don’t forget to inspect the supply voltage too. All these can be easily done with a quality oscilloscope.

(2) The LED issue…

You know, I do repair LCD monitor jobs on a daily basis. And I come across this particular issue at least twice a day – no LED light…Now, some technicians would lay the blame on faulty resistors, power ICs or filter capacitors but I beg to differ…

Instead, I suggest you take a proper look at the FET. It’s probably not working at a 100% due to full load. So focus on the FET and leave the filter capacitors, ICs and resistors alone.

Once again, if you really need a photo-based manual on how to repair LCD monitor – any type of brand, you should check out this downloadable manual which contains about 300 or so photo demonstrations, plus clearly written instructions.
