Apple is set to release iPhone
3.0 OS firmware at some point today, and from that moment the iPhone Dev Team will enter the next round of the constant cat and mouse game to unlock the new OS, we are certain that it will not take them long.
We are not sure what time the iPhone 3.0 OS will be available for download, but I am constantly checking for an update. A video has appeared on Techtree, which shows an iPhone-Dev member working to find an unlock for the new iPhone 3.0 OS firmware.
The iPhone dev-team have named the new carrier unlock for iPhone 3G
ultrasn0w. The reason for this constant cat and mouse game to keep unlocking new iPhone OS software as soon as it comes out is simple, users do not want to be tied down to the one carrier.
Once the iPhone has been unlocked, then they are not tied to just one carrier. We do warn you that if you have a new iPhone, then your warranty will become void.
Let us know if you have managed to download the new iPhone 3.0 OS yet, and let us know what you think by adding a comment below.
